Deep, saturated colors. The smoothness of fine satin in exceptional cotton. Are they worth the price? Yes I am!

These fine crisp sheets are great. I don't care for the sateen. Sateen is slippery and not as cool. I noticed the comment from another reviewer about a trip to Italy. I have looked there. No one sells them in Italy. They are made in an Italian factory for the American market. You can probably find Pratesi, but I prefer the simple Sferra Celeste. The big box stores sell higher thread count sheets for less, but they aren't as good. Thread count is not the only thing that counts. I think the numbers are often misleading. The finish & "hand" is just as important. These wear and wear and wash beautifully.

Sferra has the best sheets that I have ever come across. I'm extremely picky and anal about what I buy, therefore, I look, compare, compare again and again to make sure it's the best I can get for my pleasure and these sheets are it. I have the Milos too and love those. I have also tried other top brands, Pratesi, Frette etc...Sferra is still on the top of my chart. Sferra, you guys are great!!! please keep up with the amazing quality.

At the very first, I could feel the difference between these sheets and the department store ones . Once I slid between them, I could definitely feel the smoothness, crispness and quality. Although they are pricey. they are worth the price, unless you can get them on sale.

The fabric is unbelievable, when I first touched it I felt that I had discovered something even better than silk. I was told at the store that these would fit my "modest" 13 in. mattress (not Sferra's fault, admittedly). But when I put them on my mattress the fitted sheet was floating, and not just in the depth-of-mattress dimensions. I went to a specialist merchant to buy good percale as opposed to sateen (which I can buy anywhere) for the joy of sleeping on a soft yet smooth, cool fabric. Hard to do when the sheets have 2 extra inches on them in each direction even BEFORE they reach the edges of the mattress and they are wadding up under you. Even mattress garters will not pull the fitted sheet snug.

These sheets are expensive but sooooo worth it. They are so luxuriously crisp - not satiny and slinky - I LOVE that - and they sort of crackle with crispness! You won't regret buying them - if you can afford this luxury. I am hooked - wish I knew where in Italy they were made as I am going this summer.

These sheets are amazing. Like sleeping on a pat of butter. I've thrown out all my department store sheets & purchased my third set! A must have!!!
On July 24, 2008:
These are by far my favorite sheets. They are soft and fresh feeling. Love them.
On July 16, 2008:
These are my favorite sheets, I have about 8 sets in different colors and embroidery patterns. I like the feel of these even more than the more expensive Milos sateens, which I also have. If you are looking for cool, crisp, yet very soft sheets these are the best percale sheets I have ever found (have not yet got SFERRA Giza 45). I rotate sets to make them last and I have had some sets for approx 10 years so they are durable. One suggestion - line dry if possible as dryers can reduce life of sheets. I cant recommend this product highly enough. Very reasonably priced for exceptional quality.

My favorite sheets of all time - The sheets have a cool finish to them which I LOVE - am not a soft silky sheet lover - I love the crispness of Celeste and have slept on them for years.

I have used Celeste sheets for years and am a big fan. They are ridiculously soft and durable for the money.
